dusitD2 Feydhoo Maldives celebrates first year with Maldivian culinary journey
dusitD2 Feydhoo Maldives celebrated its first anniversary under the theme “WE ARE 1”, bringing together sales partners, media representatives, VIP guests, embassy officials and friends of the resort for an evening of food, music and entertainment.
The event opened with remarks by Jean-Louis Ripoche, Area General Manager, and Yogeswaran Veerasamy, General Manager of dusitD2 Feydhoo Maldives. They reflected on the resort’s first year, its team and the partnerships that have supported its journey since opening.
A central part of the anniversary programme was “Flavours of the Maldives – A Culinary Journey Through Our Islands’ Heritage”, led by Maldivian Executive Chef Mohamed Adhil and six other Maldivian chefs.
Each chef presented a chapter of the culinary journey, using local ingredients and traditional Maldivian flavours to create contemporary fine-dining dishes.
The menu featured ingredients sourced from islands across the Maldives, including millet from Vaikaradhoo, rose apple from Feevah, squid from Mathiveri, cage-free brown eggs from Theefaridhoo, spider conch from Huraa, rabbitfish from Addu Atoll and locally grown muskmelon from Maafunafaru.
Through the seven-course culinary presentation, the chefs highlighted the country’s farming, fishing and island traditions, with each dish sharing a story connected to Maldivian ingredients and heritage.
Following dinner, the celebration continued with music and dancing, reflecting the resort’s d2 identity and bringing the “WE ARE 1” theme to life.
