Maldivian feasts and Japanese wine pairing to feature in Milaidhoo’s 10-year celebrations

Milaidhoo Maldives will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a week-long programme of culinary, wellness and cultural experiences from 23 to 29 November 2026, placing gastronomy at the centre of the island’s milestone celebrations.

Located within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Baa Atoll, the resort will mark a decade of operations with a curated series of experiences reflecting the pillars that have shaped the property over the years, including ocean conservation, wellbeing, Maldivian culture and food.

For chefs and culinary professionals, the anniversary programme highlights Milaidhoo’s continued focus on destination dining and culturally rooted gastronomy, combining Maldivian culinary traditions with international dining concepts.

Among the key culinary events planned for the anniversary week is a Maldivian night at Azure, showcasing local flavours and island-inspired cuisine. Guests will also experience a traditional Malaafaiy feast at Ba’theli, one of the resort’s signature dining concepts that draws inspiration from Maldivian heritage and maritime history.

The culinary programme will additionally feature a 10-course Japanese-inspired wine-pairing dinner at Chef’s Table, reflecting the resort’s approach to combining international techniques with curated dining experiences in an intimate island setting.

The celebrations will conclude on 29 November with a large-scale “10 years, 10 food stalls” gala dinner, bringing together multiple culinary stations in a communal dining format. The evening will also include live entertainment and fireworks over the Indian Ocean.

The anniversary programme demonstrates how luxury resorts in the Maldives continue to use gastronomy as a central element of guest engagement, with experiential dining increasingly linked to storytelling, cultural identity and destination immersion.

Beyond the culinary offerings, the week will also include champagne sunrise cruises aboard the traditional dhoni Saima, guided snorkelling experiences, marine conservation discussions and coral planting activities linked to the resort’s ocean stewardship initiatives.

At Serenity Spa, guests will take part in wellness-focused experiences including breathwork journeys and sound healing sessions, aligned with Milaidhoo’s philosophy of simplicity and mindful living.

Commenting on the milestone, General Manager Paul van Frank said the anniversary represents a celebration of the people connected to the resort over the past decade.

“This milestone is not only a celebration of Milaidhoo but also of every guest, colleague and friend who has become part of our story,” he said.

“Milaidhoo has always been shaped by genuine connection and this week is our way of honouring the shared memories that have brought this island to life over the past 10 years.”

In addition to the anniversary week, Milaidhoo will introduce exclusive experiences throughout 2026. These include A decade of you, a tailored celebration for couples marking milestone wedding anniversaries, and 10 years, 10 nights, 10 privileges, an extended island experience featuring bespoke activities curated by the Milaidhoo team.

As the resort enters its next phase, Milaidhoo said it remains focused on personalised hospitality, cultural connection and meaningful island experiences.
