InterContinental Maldives to mark Eid with Arabian BBQ beach dinner
InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort has announced a series of culinary and lifestyle experiences for Eid al-Adha on 27 May 2026, with Arabian-inspired beachfront dining set to form the centrepiece of the celebrations.
For chefs and hospitality professionals, the resort’s Eid programme highlights the continued role of themed dining experiences and destination-led food concepts in creating seasonal guest engagement in the Maldives.
The evening programme will begin with a Management Cocktail at Café Umi Beach, where guests will gather for sunset refreshments and social experiences by the shoreline. The celebrations will then continue with an Arabian BBQ Beach Dinner, combining Middle Eastern-inspired cuisine with live entertainment, DJ performances and a fire show on the beach.
The resort said the beachfront dinner experience is designed around the spirit of Eid al-Adha, focusing on togetherness, reflection and celebration. The culinary concept draws inspiration from Arabian flavours and communal dining traditions, reflecting growing demand among luxury travellers for immersive and culturally themed food experiences.
Alongside the evening dining programme, guests staying at the resort during the Eid holiday will also have access to a Middle Eastern breakfast experience and afternoon tea offerings as part of the wider celebration schedule.
Beyond the food and beverage experiences, InterContinental Maldives will also present wellness and creative activities throughout the holiday period. AVI Spa will host personalised wellness therapies led by visiting practitioner Dr Afsana Aradhana Ghyas, with treatments focused on relaxation, balance and mindfulness. Guests booking selected facial or body therapies will also receive a complimentary 30-minute massage.
The resort will additionally host a resin art experience inspired by ocean textures and Eid traditions. The programme includes live artistic showcases and interactive workshops where guests can create handcrafted keepsakes linked to the celebration.
Families travelling during Eid will also have access to beach games and a dedicated Eid pyjama party for children at Planet Trekkers.
