Angsana Velavaru brings together festive gastronomy and Maldivian traditions

Angsana Velavaru has unveiled its Christmas and New Year festive programme, featuring celebratory dinners, seasonal brunches, gingerbread decorating activities and a New Year Garden Soirée Dinner.

The programme will bring together culinary experiences, family activities and Maldivian cultural performances, with food and beverage events forming part of the resort’s seasonal celebrations.

For chefs, pastry professionals and food and beverage teams, the festive calendar will include Christmas Eve dining, a Christmas brunch, New Year’s Eve celebrations and a dedicated programme for Orthodox Christmas.

Christmas dining and festive pastry activities

The culinary celebrations will feature a Christmas Eve dinner, followed by a Christmas brunch, providing guests with opportunities to celebrate the holiday through shared dining experiences.

The resort will also organise gingerbread cookie decorating activities for younger guests, introducing an interactive element to its festive pastry programme.

The activity will allow children to explore festive food decoration while engaging with one of the traditional baking activities associated with Christmas.

For the resort’s pastry team, gingerbread decorating offers an opportunity to involve guests in the creative aspects of festive baking, complementing the dessert preparations associated with Christmas dining.

The celebrations will begin with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, while Christmas Eve will feature traditional carols at sunset. Santa Claus will also make an appearance for younger guests.

New Year Garden Soirée Dinner

On 31 December, Angsana Velavaru will host its New Year Garden Soirée Dinner, bringing guests together for the resort’s principal New Year’s Eve dining celebration.

The event will be followed by a New Year brunch on 1 January, continuing the culinary programme into 2027.

The resort will also organise dedicated celebrations for guests observing Orthodox Christmas.

For the culinary and service teams, the programme will involve different dining formats, from festive dinners to brunch service and special celebrations.

Maldivian culture and family experiences

Alongside the culinary programme, Angsana Velavaru will feature traditional Bodu Beru performances, bringing an element of Maldivian culture to the festive celebrations.

Families will also have opportunities to participate in bracelet making, beach games, football matches and traditional tug-of-war competitions.

Marine excursions, including manta ray and turtle safaris, and wellness experiences will complement the seasonal activities.

Through its Christmas dining, New Year Garden Soirée, brunches and gingerbread decorating sessions, Angsana Velavaru will place culinary experiences among the highlights of its festive programme, bringing together the resort’s kitchen, pastry and food and beverage teams for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
