The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives to introduce chef’s table, castaway bar and beach grill
The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives is preparing to expand its food and beverage offering with three dining concepts, including an interactive Chef’s Table, a new cocktail bar on a separate island and the transformation of its existing BBQ Shak into The Beach Grill.
The developments form part of a resort-wide enhancement programme scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of 2026, bringing together new culinary experiences, upgraded villas, expanded family facilities and wellness offerings.
For chefs and food and beverage professionals, the culinary expansion introduces different approaches to dining, from personalised chef-led experiences to beachfront grilling and cocktail service.

Chef’s Table to offer interactive dining
One of the principal additions will be an exclusive Chef’s Table, designed to provide guests with a more intimate dining experience and direct interaction with the resort’s culinary team.
The concept will feature curated menus, seasonal ingredients and creative cooking techniques, with chefs guiding guests through the dishes and sharing the stories behind their preparation.
The format will place greater emphasis on culinary craftsmanship, allowing guests to engage with the techniques, ingredients and ideas that shape each course.
For the resort’s chefs, the Chef’s Table will also provide a platform to demonstrate their skills beyond conventional restaurant service, combining menu development, presentation and culinary storytelling within a personalised dining environment.

BBQ Shak to become The Beach Grill
The resort’s existing beachfront restaurant, BBQ Shak, will be relaunched as The Beach Grill, introducing a refreshed dining concept centred on grilled specialities and seafood.
The new venue will retain the emphasis on live-fire cooking and seafood while enhancing the overall beachfront dining experience.
For the culinary team, the concept will continue to provide opportunities to work with grilling techniques, seafood preparation and dishes inspired by the flavours of the Maldives.
The restaurant’s oceanfront setting will also remain central to the experience, bringing together food, location and the resort’s informal approach to hospitality.

Castaway Bar to introduce island cocktail experience
Another addition will be Castaway Bar, located on Baby Island, a standalone island surrounded by the resort’s lagoon.
The venue will offer handcrafted cocktails and light bites in a setting designed for sunset drinks, informal gatherings and after-dinner refreshments.
The new bar will expand the resort’s beverage offering while introducing a separate destination for guests seeking a more relaxed drinking and dining experience.
For bartenders and F&B teams, the concept will create opportunities to develop cocktail experiences suited to the island setting, with beverage preparation, presentation and service forming part of the overall guest experience.

Culinary expansion forms part of resort upgrades
Beyond the new food and beverage concepts, The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives will introduce refreshed interiors across its beach and overwater villas, expanded programming at Lil’ Shark Kids Club and new recreational facilities.
The Standard Spa will also be enhanced with hydrotherapy, steam, infrared sauna, cold plunge and personalised wellness experiences.
The developments follow the resort’s recognition as Best Beach Resort at the TTM Awards 2026 and Best Family Resort at the Global Destination Awards 2026.
“Great hotels should never stand still. The enhancements at The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives are about evolving the experience while keeping the personality that makes the resort unmistakably The Standard,” said Amar Lalvani, President and Creative Director of Hyatt Lifestyle Group.
Located on Huruvalhi Island in Raa Atoll, The Standard Maldives will use the new culinary concepts to broaden its restaurant and beverage portfolio.
From the interactive Chef’s Table and seafood-focused Beach Grill to cocktails at Castaway Bar, the expansion will give the resort’s chefs, bartenders and service teams additional opportunities to showcase their skills through different dining formats.
