SO/ Maldives marks third anniversary with new dining and beverage experiences

SO/ Maldives has introduced new food and beverage experiences, including afternoon high tea, sunset rituals and personalised in-villa dining, as the resort celebrates its third anniversary.

The additions form part of SO/ Signature Experiences, a collection of activities and services introduced to mark three years of operations, alongside a new villa offering that provides guests with greater flexibility in planning their dining experiences.

The anniversary celebrations also highlight the resort’s connection to CROSSROADS Maldives, where guests have access to a collection of 17 restaurants and bars offering a range of international cuisines and dining concepts.

Afternoon high tea and sunset experiences

Among the new SO/ Signature Experiences is Afternoon High Tea, adding a dedicated afternoon dining occasion to the resort’s food and beverage programme.

The offering introduces another opportunity for the resort’s culinary and pastry teams to contribute to guest experiences beyond conventional restaurant dining.

The programme also includes Sunset Rituals at Pavilion Bar, incorporating a beverage-focused experience into the resort’s evening activities.

For food and beverage professionals, the two experiences reflect the role of afternoon tea and sunset service in creating additional dining occasions throughout the day.

Other SO/ Signature Experiences include Lazuli Frequency silent disco sessions, Water Drums, Floating Pickleball and board games at Lazuli.

Personalised in-villa dining

The resort has also introduced Your Villa, Your Way, a new accommodation experience featuring bespoke in-villa dining, private speedboat transfers, flexible check-in and check-out arrangements, and additional guest privileges.

The dining component allows guests to enjoy personalised meals within the privacy of their villas, extending the resort’s food and beverage offering beyond its restaurants and bars.

For resort culinary and service teams, bespoke in-villa dining involves coordination around individual guest preferences, menu preparation, presentation and service timing.

The experience also extends to dining options across CROSSROADS Maldives, giving guests access to a wider selection of restaurants during their stay.

Access to 17 restaurants and bars at CROSSROADS

SO/ Maldives continues to position its proximity to CROSSROADS Maldives as part of its culinary offering.

The integrated destination features 17 restaurants and bars, serving international cuisine and a range of dining experiences, including dining associated with Asia’s 50 Best recognition.

Flexible meal plans allow guests to explore different venues, expanding the variety of culinary experiences available beyond the resort itself.

A complimentary Maldivian dhoni shuttle connects SO/ Maldives with The Marina and neighbouring resorts, providing access to the wider dining destination.

For chefs and food and beverage operators, the arrangement reflects a resort dining model that combines on-property experiences with access to a broader restaurant portfolio.

Three years of island hospitality

SO/ Maldives marked its third anniversary in collaboration with Rip Curl Maldives, bringing together ocean culture, entertainment and activities associated with the resort’s contemporary island concept.

The anniversary also marks the introduction of new experiences as the property enters its fourth year of operations.

Through its afternoon high tea, Sunset Rituals, personalised in-villa dining and access to CROSSROADS’ restaurant collection, SO/ Maldives is expanding the range of culinary and beverage experiences available to its guests.

The additions place greater emphasis on flexible dining, private service and the integration of food and beverage experiences into the resort’s wider hospitality offering.
