Cocoon Maldives marks 10th anniversary with lobster BBQs, gala dinners and international cuisine

Cocoon Maldives has unveiled its festive culinary programme for Christmas and New Year 2026–2027, featuring lobster beach barbecues, gala dinners, wine and dining experiences, and themed international buffets as the resort celebrates its 10th anniversary.

Running from 22 December 2026 to 6 January 2027, the 16-day programme will bring together culinary experiences across the resort’s restaurants and beachfront venues, with a special anniversary celebration scheduled for 26 December.

For chefs, pastry professionals and food and beverage teams, the programme will feature seafood preparations, international cuisines, festive desserts and interactive activities for younger guests.

Christmas dining and festive celebrations

The festivities will begin on 22 December with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony and carols at Loabi Loabi Bar, followed by a Family Feast BBQ.

On Christmas Eve, guests will be welcomed with a cocktail reception before a Christmas Gala Dinner at Octopus Restaurant. The evening will conclude with a Christmas party.

Christmas Day will begin with a festive breakfast, followed by Christmas lunch and a series of activities.

The culinary programme will continue in the evening with Wine & Dine at Manta Restaurant and an Indian Night, introducing different dining experiences to the Christmas celebrations.

Anniversary dinner and lobster beach barbecue

One of the principal culinary occasions will take place on 26 December, when Cocoon Maldives celebrates its 10th anniversary.

The resort will mark the milestone with a cocktail reception, an anniversary dinner and a cake-cutting ceremony on the beach.

A Lobster Beach BBQ at Kurumbar Beach will also form part of the celebrations, placing seafood at the centre of the anniversary dining programme.

The anniversary cake will provide a focal point for the resort’s pastry team, while the beachfront dinner and lobster barbecue will involve coordination between the culinary, beverage and service teams.

The celebrations will commemorate a decade since the resort opened, with dining experiences forming part of the anniversary programme.

International cuisine and Fish Market nights

Throughout the festive period, Octopus Restaurant will present a series of themed buffet evenings highlighting cuisines from different regions.

The programme will feature Moroccan, Indian, Italian, Maldivian and Mediterranean cuisine, alongside international buffets.

The resort’s Fish Market night will also feature in the dining calendar, providing a seafood-focused experience.

For the culinary team, the themed dinners will offer opportunities to present different regional cooking traditions and flavour profiles through buffet service.

The inclusion of Maldivian cuisine will also bring local culinary influences into the festive programme, alongside international dishes served across the resort.

New Year’s Eve and beachfront dining

On 31 December, Cocoon Maldives will host a pre-dinner cocktail reception on the beach, followed by a New Year Gala Dinner featuring entertainment and performances.

The evening will continue with a New Year’s Eve party, midnight countdown and fireworks.

On 1 January, guests will be offered the First Breakfast of 2027 and a New Year’s Brunch, followed by another Wine & Dine experience at Manta Restaurant.

The festive programme will conclude on 6 January with a Festive Grill and Goodbye Gala Dinner featuring lobster at Kurumbar Beach.

The final dinner will bring seafood and beachfront dining together to close the resort’s Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Gingerbread making and pastry activities

Culinary activities will also extend to the resort’s Kids Village programme, which will include gingerbread house making during the festive season.

The activity will introduce younger guests to elements of festive baking and decoration, complementing the resort’s broader programme of family experiences.

Beyond dining, Cocoon Maldives will offer wellness sessions, marine excursions, cultural performances and themed entertainment throughout the celebrations.

“This festive season, our team is dedicated to surrounding you with thoughtful service and genuine hospitality. As we celebrate ten years at Cocoon, we are honoured to welcome our guests to a season of peace, joy and the effortless serenity of the Maldives,” said Anish Abdulla, Resort Manager of Cocoon Maldives.

With its anniversary dinner, lobster barbecues, international buffets, wine experiences and festive baking activities, Cocoon Maldives will place gastronomy among the central elements of its 10th anniversary and festive celebrations.
