Kandooma Maldives brings Maldivian flavours to ‘Pirates’ Festive Adventure’ celebrations
Kandooma Maldives has announced a programme of festive dining experiences for Christmas and New Year, featuring Maldivian-themed buffet dinners, a multi-course Christmas Eve gala, seasonal menus and culinary activities for younger guests.
The programme, titled Pirates’ Festive Adventure, will run from 22 December 2026 to 7 January 2027 at the resort in South Malé Atoll, combining food and beverage experiences with family activities, cultural performances and marine excursions.
Festive dining will be a central part of the celebrations, with the resort’s culinary team preparing a series of dining experiences incorporating Maldivian flavours, international cuisine and traditional festive dishes.
One of the programme’s highlights will be a Maldivian-themed buffet dinner accompanied by traditional Bodu Beru drumming and a fire dance performance. The event will combine local culinary traditions with cultural entertainment, providing guests with an opportunity to experience aspects of Maldivian cuisine and heritage.
The resort will also host a multi-course Christmas Eve gala dinner, alongside Christmas dining events and special New Year celebrations. The festive menus will bring together seasonal favourites and island-inspired dishes, with dining experiences planned across the holiday period.
Kandooma Maldives’ all-inclusive offering will also remain a key part of the festive experience. Kandooma Café provides round-the-clock dining, with meals and snacks available throughout the day and night to accommodate guests arriving and departing on international flight schedules.
The continuous dining service forms part of the resort’s experience-led all-inclusive concept, which combines food and beverage services with recreational activities and marine experiences.
Beyond the resort’s restaurants, the festive programme will incorporate culinary activities for children through Kandoo Kids’ Club.
Young guests will have opportunities to participate in gingerbread making and Christmas cookie decorating, alongside festive card-making, pirate-themed crafts and other creative activities.
The culinary sessions will provide children with hands-on experiences involving festive baking and decoration, adding a food-related element to the resort’s family entertainment programme.
The Christmas and New Year celebrations will also feature opportunities for guests to explore the surrounding marine environment through activities including snorkelling excursions, sunset cruises and night fishing.
The resort’s wellness facilities, including Kandooma Spa by COMO Shambhala, will offer additional experiences throughout the festive period.
The programme will continue into January, concluding with Orthodox Christmas celebrations on 7 January 2027.
Andrew Drummond, General Manager of Kandooma Maldives, said the festive programme was designed to bring together dining, recreation and shared experiences.
“Festive holidays are about spending meaningful time together, discovering something new and creating memories that last long after the journey home,” he said.
“Our programme brings together the experiences that make an island holiday special, whether that means an ocean adventure, a celebration around the table, time to relax or a little festive magic for the family.”
For the resort’s food and beverage team, the programme will involve delivering a range of dining experiences, from buffet service and multi-course gala dinners to all-inclusive restaurant operations and family-oriented culinary activities.
The inclusion of Maldivian-themed dining, Christmas celebrations and New Year events reflects the role of culinary experiences in Kandooma Maldives’ festive hospitality offering.
Guests are advised to check the resort’s festive programme for dining schedules, package inclusions and advance-booking requirements. Additional charges may apply to selected activities and experiences.
